Prime factorization:

1008 = 2 × 2 × 2 × 2 × 3 × 3 × 7 = 24 × 32 × 7

1080 = 2 × 2 × 2 × 3 × 3 × 3 × 5 = 23 × 33 × 5

HCF = Product of smallest power of each common prime factor in the number.

 = 23 × 32 = 72
