Different plant organs, tissues and cells grow differently under various stage of the life cycle. For example, a cell formed immediately after mitosis, increases in the amount of protoplasm and then mature into a specic kind of cell. The plant organs, such as leaves, increase in surface area. Stem and roots primarily grow in length and then in girth. Thus, the flowering plants exhibit serveral parameters such as increase in fresh weight, dry weight, length, area, volume, etc., to demonstrate growth.
