`BF_(3)` does not have proton but still acts as an acid and reacts with `NH_(3)`. Why is it so? What type of bond is formed between the two ?

`BF_(3)` is an electron deficient compound and is therfore, a Lewis acid. It takes up an electron pair form `NH_(3)` which is a Lewis base. The two combine to form a co-ordinate or dative bond `NH_(3)toBF_(3)`
