Carbon hydrides of the type `(C_(n)H_(2n+2))` are electron-precise hydrides. In other words, they have exact number of electrons required to form covalent bonds. Therefore, they do not have any tendency to either gain or lose electrons and hence they neither act as Lewis acids nor Lewis bases.
