(1) Glucose contains five hydroxyl (- OH) groups. 

Fructose contains five hydroxyl (– OH) groups. 

Ribose contains four hydroxyl (– OH) groups. 

(2) Glucose contains aldehyde (– CHO) as other functional group.

Fructose contains ketonic group  as other functional group.

Ribose contains aldehyde (– CHO) as other functional group.
