Yes the flight of a bord is an example of composition of vectors as is clear from the Fig. 2 (c ) .66. As the bird flies, it strikes the air downwards with forces ` W,W` with its wings, along ` WO`. According to Newtons third Law of motion , air strikes the wibgs in opposite directions with the same force in reaction. these reactions are represented in Fig. 2 (c ) 66 along ` vec (OA)` and ` vec (OB)`A ccording to parallelogran law of vectors, the resultant of ` vec (OC)`. It is this resultabt upward force ` vec OC)` which is responsible for the flight og thebord.
