Two buses started simultanceously towards each other from towns (A) and (B) wich are ` 480 km` apart, It took the first bus travelling from (A) to (B) eight hours to cover the distance and the second bus travelling frome (B) to (A) ten hous. Determine. when the buses will meet after starting and at what distance from (A).

Here, distance between two towns (A) and (B) , ` S= 480 km , v_1 = S//8` and ` v_2 = S // 10 `. If these buses meet after time (t), time (t), then
` S/ 8 xx t + S/( 10) xx t = S`
On solving we get, ` t = 9 40 //9) horurs
:. Distance from ` A = v_1 xx t = ( 480) /8 xx (40) /9 = (800) 3` ltbRgt ` = 2 66.7 k m`.
