How many terms of the AP 20, 19 1/3, 18 2/3, ........ must be taken so that their sum is 300? Explain the double answer.

The given AP is 20, 19 1/3, 18 2/3, .........

Here,  a = 20 and d = 19 1/3 -20 = 58/3 -20 = 58-60/3 = -2/3

Let the required number of terms be n. Then,

So, the sum of first 25 terms as well as that of first 36 terms is 300. This is because the sum of all terms from 26th to 36th is 0.
