Here acetophenonone has got 3 α -H atoms . So it reacts with p-nitrobenzaldehyde in presence of NaOH to form

3-hydroxy-3-(4-nitrophenyl)-1-phenylpropan-1-one as a major product through aldol codensesation reaction governed by the mechanism as shown below.
