The full form of NIOS is "National Institute of Open Schooling."
NIOS is the Board of Education of India and comes under the Union Government of India. NIOS was established by the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD) of the Government of India to provide education to remote areas under the main motive to increase literacy and aimed forward for flexible learning. It provides students Distance education as well as regular course also.
NIOS is also the largest Open Schooling system of the world.
