Aerobic respiration 

1. It occurs in the presence of oxygen 

2. It occurs inside the mitochondria. 

3. Complete oxidation of food takes place. 

4. The end products are CO2 and water.

Anaerobic respiration 

1. It occurs in the absence of oxygen. 

2. It occurs outside the mitochondria. 

3. In complete oxidation of food takes place. 

4. Ethyl alcohal or lactic acid are the end products. 

5. 2 ATP molecules are produced by oxidation of one gram mole of glucose.
