It indicates that the magnetic field is same at all points inside the solenoid.

This property is utilised to magnetise a piece of magnetic material like soft iron when placed inside the coil.

Two ways by which the strength of an electromagnet can be increased :

Increase the amount of electric current through it. Increase the number of turns of the coil.
