Due to ozone layer depletion, the ultraviolet rays reaches earth and causes certain ill-effects which are bad for us and for crops. Exposure to UV rays can lead to greater incidence of skin cancer, cataracts and damages to the eye and immune deficiency.
Two steps to limit this damage are :
(i) Minimizing the use of CFCs.
(ii) CFC's released into air accumulates in the upper atmosphere and reacts with ozone resulting in reduction in the thickness of the ozone layer.
