Divide polynomial 3x3 – 8x2 + x + 7 by x – 3 using synthetic method and write the quotient and remainder.

Dividend = 3x3 – 8x2 + x + 7 

∴ Coefficient form of dividend = (3, – 8, 1,7) 

Divisor = x – 3 

∴ Opposite of – 3 is 3

Coefficient form of quotient = (3, 1,4)

∴ Quotient = 3x2 + x + 4 and Remainder =19
