i. Black (Regur) soil occupies most of the areas in Maharashtra.

ii. Laterite soil is found in Raigad, Ratnagiri,Sindhudurg and some parts of Gadchiroli and Nashik.

iii. Yellow Brown soil is found in parts of the Sahyadri ranges.

iv. Alluvial soil is found in Mumbai Suburban District, Mumbai city district some parts of Thane & Palghar district.

v. Fertile Alluvial Soil is found in the river valleys of Maharashtra.
