Unisexual / Dioecious male and female flowers are borne on separate plants, only plants bearing female flowers will bear fruits. Monoecious (hermaphrodite)papaya plants bear fruit too.

Papaya has both dioecious and monoecious plant,s bearing unisexual or bisexual flowers. They can occur in three sexual forms-male, female and hermaphrodites.
