Why does a doctor administer tetanus antitoxoid and not a tetanus vaccine to a child injured into a road side accident with bleeding wound? Explain.

Tetanus antitoxoid i.e. preformed antibodies are injected so as to obtain quickimmunization response against infection by microbes. Tetanus vaccine, if injected will take time to develop antibodies in the body so that immunization response would be delayed & this may lead to the fatal end.
