Control of pests and plant diseases by using the biological methods is called biocontrol. It is a natural method of pest and pathogen control which is based natural predation. This involves the use of microorganisms like bacteria viruses, fungi, cyanobacteria and other natural predators and which bring about the control of pest and diseases e.g. Dragonfly prey upon mosquitoes, Baculoviruses attack insects and other arthropods. They are species specific and do not cause harm to the non target beneficial organisms.
