Explanation:

The thalloid body of a slime mould is known as Plasmodium. The members of myxomycetes are ca]Ied slime moulds because they contain all secrete slime. They are included in lower fungi. Their somatic phase a multinucleate, diploid holocarpic Plasmodittn (a product of syngamy). ln Plasmodium, propagation occurs through fission or thick walled cysts or sclerotium like structures. Reproduction takes place by the formation of uninucleate, thick wailed resting spores which are produced. within minute fruiting bodies irks structures. i.e. the Salaria. Fruiting bodies and mycelium are absent in lower fungi. Protonema is not formed in fungi.
