Insulin consists of two (short) polypeptide chains (A and B), linked by disulphide bonds, two DNA sequences corresponding to chain A and B prepared (by Eh Lily company), introduced them into plasmid of E. coli, chain A and B produced separately, extracted and combined by creating disulphide bonds.
