Ramesh includes in his meals, bread, vegetables, pulses, eggs and fruits, while in class room his teacher was explaining the trophic levels he got very much surprised and surprised fascinated and therefore asked many question from his teacher in order to understand the details of trophic levels in the ecosystem ?

Answer the following questions based on the above information- 

(i) How many trophic levels does he occupy in different food chains in the ecosystem. 

(ii) Write any three food chain in the ecosystem. 

(iii) Which food chain among the three gives him maximum amount of energy ? 

(iv) What values were shown by Ramesh ?

(i) Ramesh occupies three different trophic levels one in each of the three food chains. 

(ii) (a) Vegetables (green plants) - Ramesh 

(b) Plants → Insects → Hen → eggs → Ramesh 

(c) Plants → Hen → egg → Ramesh 

(iii) Food chain a gives him the maximum amount of energy because the green plants which are autotrophic capture solar energy and produce food through photosynthesis and only 10% of energy is passed on to next trophic level in the food chain. 

(iv) Ramesh is curious, sincere and has a scientific attitude.
