In a trapezium ABCD, AB// CD and AB =2 CD. If the area of triangle AOB = 84 cm, then the area of triangle COD is:

It is given that ABCD is a trapezium and AB ∣∣ DC.

We know that the arc of similar triangles are proportional to squares of their corresponding altitude, therefore with Ar(△AOB) = 84 cm2 and AB = 2CD,

we have,

Hence, area of △COD is 21 cm2.
