Differences between circular and periodic motion :

Circular motion	Periodic motion
All circular motions are periodic	All periodic motion are not circular
The radial acceleration is always present and is directed towards the centre	May not be always directed towars the centre. In general radial acceleration may be absent.
The distance from the centre is constant	The distance from centre may vary with time.
