\(\frac{x}{3}\)+ \(\frac{y}{4}\)= 4
Multiplying both sides by 12,
4x + 3y = 48 …(i)

Subtracting equation (ii) from (i),
∴ y = 8

∴ x = \(\frac{24}{4}\)
∴ x = 6
