Calculate the mass percentage of benzene `(C_(6)H_(6))` and carbon tetrachloride `(C Cl_(4))` if 22g of benzene is dissolved in 122g of carbon tetrachloride.

Best answer
Mass of benzene = 22g, Mass of `C Cl_(4)=122"g"`
Mass of solution `=22+122=144"g"`
Mass % of benzene `=(22)/(144)xx100=15.28%`
Mass of `C Cl_(4)=100-15.28=84.72%`
Note : Mass percent of `C Cl_(4)` can also be calculated by using the formula as :
`"Mass % of "C Cl_(4)=(122)/(144)xx100=84.72%`
