In a wedding a photographer needs to arrange 6 people out of 10 to line for picture session,in how many ways can he do this if:

  1. The bride and groom must appear in the picture?.
  2. The bride and groom must be next to one another.
  3. Bride must appear on the left of the groom?.

1. Since the bride and groom must be there in the picture, hence the photographer has to select 4 peoples out of 8 which can be done in 8C4 ways.

Now these 6 peoples can be arranged in 6! ways. Hence the total no. of arrangements

           = 8C× 6!

           = 8! ×6! / (8-4)! 4!

           =(8×7×6×5×4!) (6×5×4!)/4! 4!

           = 50400 ways

2. When bride and groom are together they can be considered as one

  No. of ways = 8C× 5! × 2!

                       = 16800 ways

3. When bride is on the left of groom then the no. of ways are 8C4 ×5! = 8400 as now the bride and groom cannot swap.
