Find the particular solution of the differential equation : dy/dx + y cot x = 4x cosec x, (x ≠ 0), given, that y = 0, when x  = pi/2.

dy/dx + y cot x = 4x cosec x ......(i)

This is a linear differential equation

Solution of equation (i) is

given, y = 0, at x  = pi/2, then by (ii), we have

Putting this value of c in (ii), we get

This is the required particular solution.
