Correct Answer - D
(d) Some common fungal inhabitants of soil help to combat diseases caused by soil borne plant pathogens. These include Trichoderma harzianum which are found in damp soils. They have an inhibitory effect on the growth of the mycelium of Pythium. They serve to supress fungi causing damping of disease of the seedlings and thereby influence favourably the growth of crops.
