Explain the steps that ensure cross pollination in an autogamous flower.

The chasmogamous type of autogamous flowers are open, can be subjected to cross pollination naturally by various agents such as wind, insects, birds etc. But, in order to have ensure cross pollination, artificial hybridization technique is used.
(i) Emasculation-The anther is removed from the bud if the female parent bears bisexual flowers.
(ii) Bagging-The emasculated flower is covered by a bag so as not to allow contamination of the stigma by unwanted pollen grains.
