Answer for first question:

Let velocity of man in still water is v, and water speed with respect to observer on ground be u.

So, velocity of man moving perpendicular will be = √v2-u2
velocity of downstream = v+u
Now according to question,(√v2-u2)t =(v+u)T
So, v/u = t2 +T2 /t2 -T2
