A hub connects several computers together and acts as a central node or server. All the incoming data packets received by the hub are sent to all hub ports and from there, the data is sent to all the computers connected in a hub network.
Hubs are of two types.
(i) Active hubs acts as a repeater.
(ii) Passive hub simply passes the signal from one device to another.
