Chair height 77" (43 cm), placed against wall for stability.

Starting position: Sitting in the middle of the chair, back straight, arms crossed over chest, feet flat on floor.

(b) Demonstrate the movement first slowly, then quickly.

(c) Practise one or more repetition before actual start of test to check balance.

(d) On the signal 'go' the candidate comes to a full stand, then returns to fully seated position, as many times as possible in 30 seconds.

(e) If a person is more than half way up at the end of 30 seconds count it as full stand.
