Best answer

Increasing number of industries exerting pressure on fresh water resources –

(i) Industries are heavy users of water.

(ii) More demand of hydro electric power.

(iii) Industrial wastes and effluent are discharged into rivers causing water pollution.

(iv) Multiplying urban centres, due to industries, has caused pressure on water resources.

(v) Any other relevant point.

Any three points to be explained.
