Shivansh was a student of class IX. Suddenly, his parents observed changes in the behavior of Shivansh. His voice was becoming dull and hoarse. He was also lacking interest in the studies. 

His parent got worried and consulted a doctor. 

(a) What was the reason of these changes? 

(b) What advice would have the doctor given? 

(c) Which hormone was responsible for voice change in Shivansh.

(a) It was because of the hormonal changes in the body that takes place during puberty. These hormones are like chemical messages that cause the testicles or the ovaries to release other hormones. All these hormones work together to start the changes in puberty. 

(b) Doctor advises the students to keep calm and accept the changes as puberty is the period when a child’s body begins to develop and change as they become an adult. Girls develop breasts and start their periods, and boys develop a deeper voice and start to look like men. 

(c) Testosterone is the hormone responsible for voice change in Shivansh. 

(d) Awareness about puberty and hormones responsible for it.
