(i) Friedel Craft’s acylation of Benzene- Benzene reacts with acetyl chloride in the presence of anhydrous AlCl3 to give acetophenone.
(ii) Decarboxylation : It is a chemical reaction that removes a carboxyl group (-COOH) and releases carbon dioxide (CO2). Usually, decarboxylation refers to a reaction of carboxylic acid, removing a carbon atom from a carbon chain.
