An object is placed at 15 cm from a convex mirror having radius of curvature 20 cm. Find the position and kind of image formed by it.

Given: u = – 15 cm,

f = \(\frac{R}{2}\) = + \(\frac{20}{2}\) = + 10 cm

To find: Nature and position of image (v)

Formula: \(\frac{1}{v}+\frac{1}{u}=\frac{1}{f}\)

Calculation: From formula,

∴ v = 6 cm
