Recruitment is the process of selecting candidates who are sufficient and eligible to work in the organisation.

  • Firstly if the existing staff is insufficient or does not fulfil the eligibility criteria for the jobs they can be trained according to the needs of the organisation.
  • Training is very important for the success of the organisation as well as the individual. It is also unless costly method which can be utilised by the management.
  • In order to recruit new employees, the company can directly advertise the job openings or get employees through employment exchanges or through recruitment agencies.

Two sources of internal recruitment:

1. Promotion refers to shifting of an employee to a higher position, carrying higher responsibilities, facilities, status and pay.

2. Transfer involves shifting of an employee from one job to another, one department to another, without substantive change in the responsibilities and status of the employee.
