Sum of the areas of two squares is 468 m2. If the difference of their perimeters is 24 m, find the sides of the two squares.

Solution:

The measure of side of a square is a non-negative quantity.

Thus, the measure of sides of the smaller square is 12 m and the measure of sides of the larger square is 18 m (= 12 m + 6 m).
