Correct option is (C) 12 cm

Perpendicular drawn from the centre of the circle to a chord is bisect the chord.

Since, OP \(\bot\) AB and O is centre of the circle

\(\therefore\) OP bisects AB

\(\therefore\) AP = PB

But AP+PB = AB

\(\therefore\) AB = 2AP

\(=2\times6\)    \((\because\) AP = 6 cm (given))

= 12 cm
