A child swings sitting and standing  inside swing. What is the effect of time period  in both the case

The standing of the girl shift the center of mass of the whole system upwards. This will decrease the length of the oscillating systems and thus the time period will decrease.

as we know time period is directly proportional to squareroot of l (distance of COM  from point of oscillation).

When the child stand its COM shifts upward in comparison to sitting position

and so time period will be less in case of standing position.
