Correct option (a) chlorine

Explanation :

CaOCl2 + 2HCl → CaCl2 + H2O + Cl2 

The liberated Cl2 gives the disinfectant nature to bleaching powder.

Cl2+ H2O → HCI + HOCI (Kill germs)
