Manuscripts are handwritten records of the past and are in the form of books. Manuscripts were copied on palm leaves or on handmade paper.

Limitations of Manuscripts:

•  Manuscripts were very expensive.
•  Manuscripts were fragile and awkward to handle.
•  They have to be handled carefully.
•  They could not be carried around or read easily.

A manuscript is any document written by hand or as opposed to being mechanically printed or reproduce in some indirect way. The production of the handwritten manuscript could not meet the ever increasing demand for book because that time people were very much interested in reading books. And people demand ed more and more books. And writting of book takes very much time.so it could not meet the demands.
