(a) Web page:  A web page or webpage is a document commonly written in HTML (Hypertext Markup Language) that is accessible through the Internet or other networks using an Internet browser. A web page is accessed by entering a URL address and may contain text, graphics, and hyperlinks to other web pages and files. The page you are reading now is an example of a web page.

(b) Web server: Computer or collection of computers used to deliver web pages and other content to multiple users. Below are some examples of web server software.

(c) Web link: Alternatively referred to as a link and web link, a hyperlink is an icon, graphic, or text in a document that links to another file or object. The World Wide Web is comprised of hyperlinks linking trillions of pages and files to one another. For example, Computer Hope home page is a hyperlink to the main page of Computer Hope.

(d) Home page: The homepage or home page is the name of the main page of a website where visitors can find hyperlinks to other pages on the site. By default, the homepage on all web servers is index.html, however, can also be index.htm, index.php, or whatever the developer decides.

(e) Cookies: First introduced with Netscape 0.9 on October 13, 1994, a cookie is a small amount of text-only data saved on your computer while you browse a certain website. This information can be used by websites to help create custom pages for you upon your return visits or save session information. For example, when you put items into an online shopping cart, cookies allow the host site to save them for when you return to the site at a later date.

(f) Online music service: The term online music store relates to a website or online service that allows you to browse through and purchase music from many genres and artists. Most online music stores allow the customer to listen to samples of songs, and purchase both single songs or full albums. Some are subscription services, and others offer one-time purchases. Audio streaming services may also be available for a small subscription fee.

(g) Blogging : A weblog or blog is a listing of text, images, or other objects that are arranged in a chronological order that first started appearing in 1998. Blogs are often maintained and run by a single individual, updated daily, or contain personal remarks about a topic, a personal ramble, or an update on the person's life. In many ways, many weblogs are like a personal journal or a look into another individual's life and can be a way to learn about people, events, places, and more from people around the world.

(h) FTP : Short for File Transfer Protocol, FTP is the most common way of sending and receiving files between two computers. A good example of how FTP is used today is by web developers, who connect to their web server using an FTP program (e.g., FileZilla) and send updated versions of their web pages to the server.

(i) E-commerce: Short for electronic commerce, e-commerce is any purchase or distribution of services and products on the Internet. Essentially, it's any online monetary transaction. However, online shopping is what comes to most people's minds and is one of the most popular examples.
