Explanation:

Lower aldehydes and ketones are soluble in water due to polar effect of >C = O which makes hydrogen bonds with water molecules. As the size of the aldehydes and ketones increases the hydrophobic part i.e., alkyl chain increases which weakens the H-bond formations with H2O molecules and decreases the solubility.
