Sodium ions are primarily found in the Blood plasma and the interstitial fluids around the cells whereas Potassium ions are found within the cell fluids. Sodium ions help in the transmission of nerve signals and also regulate the flow of water and transport sugars and amino acids into the cells.
Thus, Sodium is more important for our survival than potassium.
