Correct Answer - Option 2 : Cervix progressively effaced and dilated

Concept:

False labor manifestation is as follow

  • Contractions don't come regularly and they don't come together.
  • Contractions stop with walking or at rest or with a change in position.
  • Pain is usually felt only in the front.
  • Cervix does not change with contractions.
  • In false labor, the woman experiences abdominal discomfort.

Clinical Finding of True Labor

  • Regular uterine contractions that increase in frequency, lasting about 30-70 seconds each.
  • Strength and duration. Contractions do not disappear when lying down or walking around
  • Effacement and dilation of the cervix.

Before the start of labor, there may be some early signs:

  • Breathing and urination may suddenly be easier.
  • Vaginal discharge or mucus may have a brownish, pink, or reddish tinge (known as the bloody show).
  • Might experience an upset stomach or diarrhea.
  • Might experience a slight increase in blood pressure.
  • The mucus plug may come out all at once or break off over several days.

  • False labor Irregular contractions of the uterus before actual labor and without dilation of the cervix.
  • True labor has strong and regular contractions.
