Correct Answer - Option 2 : 280

Given:

The ratio of number of 5 Rs coins and 2 Rs. coins = 15 ∶ 14

Amount of Sohan after the number of 5 Rs. coins is halved = Rs. 1310

Formula used:

Total amount = (total number of 5 Rupees coins × 5 + total number of 2 Rupees coins × 2)

Calculation:

Let the number of 5 Rupees coins is 15x and number of 2 Rupees coins is 14x.

If the number of 5 Rupees coins is halved, then he will have an amount of Rs. 1310

⇒ (15x/2) × 5 + (14x × 2) = Rs. 1310

⇒ 75x + 56x = 1310 × 2

⇒ 131x = 1310 × 2

⇒ x = 20

⇒The number of 2 Rs coins that Sohan has = 14x = 14 × 20 = 280

∴The number of 2 Rupees coins is 280.
