Correct Answer - Option 2 : William Shakespeare

The correct answer is William Shakespeare.

  • Macbeth: Macbeth by Shakespeare tells the story of Macbeth, a Scottish lord who receives a prophecy saying that he will become King of Scotland.
    • Scottish generals Macbeth and Banquo have just defeated the allied forces of Norway and Ireland, which were led by the traitorous Macdonwald.
    • As Macbeth and Banquo wander onto a heath, they are greeted by the Three Witches, who offer them prophecies. Banquo challenges them first, so they address Macbeth: they hail him as "Thane of Glamis,” his current title and then "Thane of Cawdor," adding that he will also be king.
  • King Lear: The great English writer William Shakespeare wrote King Lear.
    • It tells the tale of a king who bequeaths his power and land to two of his three daughters.
    • The first attribution to Shakespeare of this play, originally drafted in 1605 or 1606.
  • Measure for Measure: Shakespeare's 'Measure for Measure' centers around the fate of Claudio, who is arrested by Lord Angelo, the temporary leader of Vienna.
    • Angelo is left in charge by the Duke, who pretends to leave town but instead dresses as a friar to observe the goings-on in his absence. Angelo is strict, moralistic, and unwavering in his decision-making; he decides that there is too much freedom in Vienna and takes it upon himself to rid the city of brothels and unlawful sexual activity.

All these plays are written by William Shakespeare.
