Correct Answer - Option 1 : 90 : 37

Given:

The ratio of the income of A and B is 5 : 3

Concept:

Income = Expenditure + Saving

Calculation:

Let be assume the income of A and B is 5X and 3X respectively and the savings of A and B is 6Y and 7Y respectively.

⇒ The expenditure of A = (3/4) of A' income

⇒ Saving of A = (Income of A) - (Expenditure of A)

⇒ 6Y = 5X - (3/4) × (5X)

⇒ 24Y = 20X - 15X

⇒ 24Y = 5X

⇒ X/Y = 24/5

⇒ Expenditure of B = 3X - 7Y

⇒ Expenditure of A = 5X - 6Y

⇒ The required ratio = {5 × (24/5) - 6}/{3 × (24/5) - 7} = 90/37

∴ The required result will be 90/37.
