Let the maximum score in Maths is M.

Maximum score in Biology, B = 0.5M

Percentage marks scored by Vivek in Biology, P₁ = (3n/0.5M) × 100

⇒ 600n/M

Similarly, Percentage marks scored by Varun in Maths, P₂ = (4n/M) × 100

X = ((P₁ - P₂)/P₂) × 100
